David Gardner: Printer for Ansel Adams

David Gardner has been a printer for most of his life. He began working on a newspaper when he was in the 8th grade at Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles, and wanted to make fine quality
prints of photographs as soon as he learned how.

In the November issue of the Photographers' Formulary monthly newsletter, we'll talk to Mr. Gardner about his life, and about how he became the printer for Ansel Adams.

On an another note, we'll read about David's once-in-a-lifetime experience when as a young Lieutenant, Junior Grade, he commanded a U.S. Navy gunboat only nine miles away from the detonation of the fifth nuclear device in the history of mankind.
